This compound is prepared according to the procedure described in step A of Preparation 1.6, starting with 1.2 g of magnesium, 9.5 g of 1-bromo-3,5-dimethoxybenzene, 50 ml of THF and a solution of 3 g of 5-chloro-1H-indole-2,3-dione in 50 ml of THF. 3.2 g of the expected product are obtained after crystallization from iso ether; m.p.=191° C.
