3-[4-(6-Methylsulfanyl-2-oxo-3-propyl-3,7-dihydro-2H-purin-8-yl)-bicyclo[2.2.2]oct-1-yl]-propionic acid methyl ester (105 mg) was dissolved in 2 mL of DMSO along with an appropriate amino alcohol (e.g., 160 uL of (R)-2-amino-1-butanol for compound 3). The reaction mixture was stirred at 150° C. for 3 h. It was then cooled to rt and purified by preparative HPLC to afford 50 mg of the titled compound.
