3 moles of acetylacetone was added to 1 mole of cerium nitrate hexahydrate and heated to 90° C. under agitation under which the mixture was treated for 1 hour. The solution was provided as cerium nitrate stock solution. This had a CeO2 solid content of 23.2%.
