实验过程

20.0 g of a commercially available rutile-type high-purity titanium dioxide (PT-301, made by Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha Ltd.) and 8.85 g of sodium carbonate were mixed, and thereafter heated and calcined in the air at a temperature of 800° C. for 20 hours using an electric furnace, and thereafter again heated and calcined under the same conditions to obtain disodium trititanium heptaoxide. The obtained disodium trititanium heptaoxide was added to a hydrochloric acid aqueous solution of 1 mol in concentration so that the concentration thereof became 10 g/L, and reacted for 4 days to obtain dihydrogen trititanium heptaoxide. During the reaction, the hydrochloric acid aqueous solution was replaced every day. The obtained dihydrogen trititanium heptaoxide was filtered, washed, and solid-liquid separated, and dried in the air at a temperature of 60° C. for 12 hours, and thereafter heat dehydrated in the air at a temperature of 350° C. for 20 hours using an electric furnace to obtain a titanic acid compound as a comparative object (Sample C). The loss on heat of 300 to 600° C. of Sample C was measured, and the result was 0.50% by weight; and if a presumption is made as in Example 1, Sample C is believed to have had a composition of H2Ti45O91.
