Following the basic procedure of Example 12, by reacting 2 g (5.1 mmol) of methyl 2-hydroxy-4-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2-anthryl)benzoate with 600 μl (6.1 mmol) of 3-iodopropane, 1.16 g (54%) of methyl 2-propyloxy-4-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2-anthryl)benzoate was obtained.
