Методика

Sodium hydride (14.6 g, 365 mmol) was added at 0° C. to a solution of 1,3-propanediol (27.8 g, 365 mmol) in dimethylformamide (70 ml). 7-Fluoroquinazolin-4-ol (10 g, 60.9 mmol) was added portion wise and the reaction mixture heated at 60° C., then at 110° C. for 3 hours. The reaction was cooled to 0° C., quenched with water (280 ml) and adjusted to pH 5.9. The resulting suspension was filtered, washed with water then diethyl ether and dried over phosphorus pentoxide to yield 7-(3-hydroxypropoxy)quinazolin-4-ol as a white powder (12.41 g, 92% yield):
