Методика

Formamidine acetate (20.13 g, 193.4 mmol) was added to a solution of 2-amino-4-fluorobenzoic acid (15 g, 96.7 mmol) in 2-methoxyethanol (97 ml) and the mixture heated to reflux for 18 hours. The reaction was cooled, concentrated and the residue stirred in aqueous ammonium hydroxide (0.01 M, 250 ml) for 1 hour. The suspension was filtered, washed with water and dried over phosphorus pentoxide to yield 7-fluoroquinazolin-4-ol as an off-white solid (10.35 g, 65% yield):
