With the use of 81.1 g (0.46 mole) of p-tert-butoxystyrene and 4.6 g (0.04 mole) of styrene, the same polymerization reaction and after-treatment as Production example 2-(1) were conducted to give 77.1 g of poly(p-tert-butoxystyrene/styrene) as white powders. A ratio of p-tert-butoxystyrene unit and styrene unit in the obtained polymer was about 92:8 by 1HNMR. Mw: about 20000, molecular dispersion: 1.90 (GPC method; polystyrene as standard).
