Методика

General Procedure E. A solution of ethyl 5,6-diphenylpyridine-2-carboxylate (Compound 21, 30 mg, 0.1 mmol) and conc. H2SO4 (3 drops) in MeOH (5 ml) was heated at 50° C. overnight. The mixture was diluted with water, and the products were extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and brine, and dried over Na2SO4. The filtered solvent was concentrated in vacuo and the residue was purified by column chromatography (20% ethyl acetate in hexane) to obtain the title compound as a yellow solid.
