2-[o-(β-Dimethylamino-ethoxy)-styryl]-quinoline was prepared from 2-(o-hydroxy-styryl)-quinoline (m.p. 274°-278° C.) and dimethylamino-ethyl chloride, and the free base was converted into its monohydrochloride, yielding 86% of theory of the compound of the formula ##STR8## which had a melting point of 188° C.
