3-(4-Piperidin-4-ylidene-4H-1-thiabenzo[f]azulen-2-yl-propionic acid benzenesulfonate of 99.6% purity (1.0 g) was dissolved in acetone (50 mL) by heating and allowed to cool down to room temperature and the crystals deposited therefrom were filtered to give 0.30 g (recovery rate: 30%) of 3-(4-piperidin-4-ylidene-4H-1-thiabenzo[f]azulen-2-yl) propionic acid benzenesulfonate of 100% purity.
