実験手順

To a solution of 1.8 mL (10.3 mmol) of 3-phenoxybenzyl alcohol (Aldrich Chemical Co.) in 20 mL of CH2Cl2 at room temperature was added 1.5 g of powdered 4 Å molecular sieves and 2.5 g of activated MnO2. The resulting suspension was stirred at room temperature for 0.5 h, at which time an additional 2.5 g of MnO2 was added. After stirring at room temperature for 0.5 h the reaction mixture was filtered through celite to give 1.84 g of the aldehyde 125 as an oil. 1H NMR consistent with structure.
