実験手順

Ethyl 2-(3-(4-cyanonaphthalen-1-yl)pyridin-2-ylthio)-2-methylpropanoate (121 mg, 0.32 mmol) in a mixture of aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (1M, 2 mL) and methanol (5 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 5 hours. Methanol was partially removed and the resulting residue acidified causing precipitation of the product 2-(3-(4-cyanonaphthalen-1-yl)pyridin-2-ylthio)-2-methylpropanoic acid. Solid product was isolated by filtration and dried under vacuum (0.065 g, 0.187 mmol, 60%).
