The title compound is prepared from 2-bromo-5-iodo-1,3-dimethylbenzene and 1-methyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridin-4-ylboronic acid following a procedure analogous to that described in Step 1 of Intermediate 56. LC (method 11): tR=1.04 min; Mass spectrum (ESI+): m/z=292, 294 [M+H]+.
