実験手順

33.2 G. of 2,4,5-trimethyl-3-chloromethyl-thiophene and 55.0 g. of triphenyl phosphine were dissolved in 200 ml. of benzene. The resulting mixture was refluxed overnight under argon and then cooled to room temperature. The precipitated white phosphonium salt which formed was collected by filtration, washed several times with cold benzene and dried at 80° C. under high vacuum to yield (2,4,5-trimethyl-3-thenyl)triphenyl phosphonium chloride, m.p. 236°-237° C.
