実験手順
A mixture of 32 g (0.2 mole) of 1,8-diaminonaphthalene and 32 g (0.3 mole) of 85% lactic acid in 400 ml of 4N hydrochloric acid is refluxed for 18 hr. The separated solid is filtered and converted to the free base by treatment with dilute ammonia for 2 hr. The new solid is filtered and recrystallized twice from 95% ethanol to give the product, α-methyl-2-perimidinemethanol, as yellow crystals, m.p. 205°-206° dec.
