Mode opératoire

Following a procedure similar to that described in Example 61(b), 0.196 g of phthalidyl 4-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)-2-propyl-1-[4-[2-(trityltetrazol-5-yl)phenyl]phenyl}methylimidazole-5-carboxylate [prepared as described in step (a) above] was detritylated by heating it with 75% v/v aqueous acetic acid to give 0.110 g of the title compound, melting at 168°-170° C.
