Mode opératoire

To a solution of 4-(4-Pyridin-4-yl-4H-[1,2,4]triazol-3-yl)-phenol (44 mg) in dimethyl formamide (1 ml) in a 7 ml Teflon capped vial was added cesium carbonate (185 mg) and 2-Chloromethyl-quinoline (37 mg) and the reaction mixture heated on a shaker plate at 60° C. for 18 h. The reaction mixture was poured into water and extracted with methylene chloride, dried magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated to provide the title compound (45 mg). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.87 (s, 1H), 8.65 (d, J=6.0 Hz, 2 H), 8.37 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 1 H), 8.03 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 1H), 7.94 (d, J=7.9 Hz, 1H), 7.78 (m, 1 H), 7.70 (d, J=8.3 Hz, 1 H), 7.61 (t, J=5.8 Hz, 1 H), 7.40 (m, 4H), 7.14 (d, J=9.1 Hz, 2 H), 5.38 (s, 2H); MS: (M+H m/z=380.2).
