Mode opératoire

150 Parts of 2-bromoacetophenone was dissolved in 375 parts of acetone, and 66.5 parts of tetrahydrothiophene was added dropwise thereto. After the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 hours, white solid obtained was filtered, washed with acetone and then dried to obtain 207.9 parts of 1-(2-oxo-2-phenylethyl)tetrahydrothiophenium bromide in the form of white crystals.
