Mode opératoire

Reaction of 2-chloromethylpyrimidine with ethylenediamine by the procedure of Example 34 and reaction of the resulting N-(2-pyrimidylmethyl)ethylenediamine with methyl isothiocyanate by the procedure of Example 3(b) gives, after concentrating and chromatographing, N-methyl-N'-[2-(2-pyrimidylmethylamino)ethyl]thiourea. This thiourea is reacted with lead cyanamide by the procedure of Examples 3(b) to give the title compound.
