Mode opératoire

A solution of Compound 4 (0.46 g, 3.1 mmol) and methyl-4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetate (0.55 g, 3.2 mmol) in 7 mL CH3 SO3H is stirred at 20° C. for 48 hours. The reaction mixture is poured into 70 mL ice water, and the resulting precipitate is collected by filtration, washed with water, dried in vacuo at 60° C. for 16 hours to yield 240 mg (30%) of Compound 20 as an off-white powder. 1 H-NMR (DMSO-d6) δ 7.33 (d, 1 H), 6.99 (s, 1H). 19F-NMR (DMSO-d6) Φ 59.38 (s, 3F), 129.93 (t, J=9.9 Hz, 1H), 147.78 (d, J=9.3 Hz, 1F).
