Following the procedure described for Example 1, Step 1, treatment of a solution (0.174 M) in Et2O of 4-chloro-2-isopropyl-5-methyl-phenol with phosphorus oxychloride (1.0 eq.) and Et3N (1.0 eq.) provided the title compound as a colorless oil. 31P NMR (300 MHz, CD3OD): δ 4.54.
