Procedimiento

A mixture of 6-nitro-4-oxo-1-propionyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline (2.976 g), N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal (8.568 g), and triethylamine (1.818 g) in benzene (24 ml) was refluxed with stirring for 2.5 hours and cooled to room temperature. The resulting precipitates were collected by filtration, washed with cold ethyl acetate, and dried to give 3-dimethylaminomethylene-6-nitro-4-oxo-1-propionyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline (3.345 g).
