Procedimiento

5 grams of N-[4-[2-(2-amino-4,7-dihydro-4-oxo-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidin-5-yl)ethyl]benzoyl]-L-glutamic acid (purity 99.6% by HPLC) was dissolved in 1 L of distilled water and 11.698 ml of a 2.0 M solution of sodium hydroxide was added to the solution. Mannitol (10 g) was then added to the solution and dissolved. The solution was then filtered through a bacterial filter and dried in a freeze-drier to afford the title compound as a white solid in mixture with mannitol (15.5 g, purity 99.6% area by HPLC).
