Procedimiento

The procedure described in Example 17(a) was followed, using 36.0 g of (3-phenylpropyl)piperazine, 25.0 g of potassium hydroxide, 125 ml of dimethyl sulfoxide and 28.0 g of 1-bromo-3-chloropropane, to give 46.0 g (73% of theory) of 1-(3-phenylpropyl)-4-(3-chloropropyl)piperazine dihydrochloride.
