The title compound was prepared from 4-methylthiazole and 4-chloro-1-(2-thienyl)-1-butanone, using the general method of Example 36. M.p. 59°-60° C., 13C Nmr (CDCl3) 17.4, 26.2, 41.2, 69.3, 86.2, 113.9, 124.2, 124.7, 126.8, 148.9, 153.1 and 175.6 ppm.
