Procedimiento

0.5 g (R)-2-(3H-imidazol-4-yl)-1-methyl-ethylamine are dissolved in 50 mL phosphate buffer (pH 7) and combined with 1.35 mL formaldehyde. The pH is adjusted to 8 by the addition of 1 N NaOH and the reaction solution is stirred for 12 h at 37° C. Then by the further addition of 1 N NaOH the pH is adjusted to 12, the solvent is eliminated in vacuo, the residue is suspended in ethanol and filtered to remove any undissolved constituents. After elimination of the ethanol in vacuo a crude product is left which is further used directly for the following reactions.
