Procedimiento

22.4 g (0.1 mol) of 7-ethoxymethylxanthine were stirred at 70° C. for 1.5 hours with 45.9 g (0.2 mol) of 1,5-dibromopentane and 27.6 g of activated potassium carbonate. The solution was filtered and concentrated, and the oily residue which remained was chromatographed (eluent: ethyl acetate).
