Procedimiento

135 mg (0.654 mmol) of the R-alpha-lipoic acid so obtained were dissolved in 1 ml ether and reacted with the solution of 152 mg (0.83 mmol) diphenylmethylamine in 3.5 ml ether. The precipitate was recrystallized from methanol (1 ml) diisopropyl ether (5 ml). R-alpha-lipoic acid-diphenylmethylamine salt was obtained with a melting point of 120° C., alphaD20 =+51° (c=0.3; pyridine).
