Procedure

The N-(4-nitrophenyl)-N-(2-pyrid-3-ylethyl)amine (3) obtained above was reduced with a boiling zinc/ammonium chloride/water/ethanol mixture. The corresponding amine was isolated in dihydrochloride form.
