Procedure

2.9 ml of a solution of 5.9N hydrogen chloride in ethanol were aded to a solution of 5 g of the product of Example 1 in 5 ml of ethanol and the mixture was stirred while adding isopropyl ether thereto. The mixture was stirred for 24 hours and was filtered. The product was empasted with isopropyl ether, filtered and dried under pressure to obtain 4.4 g of 3,4-bis-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-ethyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole hydrochloride.
