Procedure

4 g (7.9 mmol) of 4,4-di(1'-methylpropyl)-4,5-dihydro-3H-dinaphtho[2,1-c:1',2'-e]phosphepinium bromide are suspended in 70 ml of absolute xylene and reacted with 400 mg (10.5 mmol) of lithium aluminum hydride using a method analogous to Example 5.
