Procedure

To a solution of 2-Benzyl-3-(4-phenyl-thiazol-2-ylamino)-propionic ethyl ester (22r) (0.028 mmol, 10 mg) in EtOH (2 mL) and water (200 μL) is added KOH 1N solution (224 μL, 8 eq.). After 5 hours, the solution is neutralized with KHSO4 1N solution and lyophilized before purification.
