Procedure

Preparation from L-(+)-glutamine (5.39 g, 36.9 mmol) and benzyl isocyanate (4.96 g, 36.9 mmol) (final pH value after 24 h stirring: 8-9) gave N2-[(benzylamino)carbonyl]-L-glutamine (7.0 g, 68%, white solid).
