Procedure

The resulting ester compound and 0.13 g of 10% palladium-on-carbon were added to ethanol to conduct debenzylation in a hydrogen atmosphere to obtain 0.39 g of (R)-(+)-4-hydroxybenzoic acid 1-trifluoromethylheptyl ester ##STR7##
