Procedure

To a solution of 1,2,4-triazole (1.38 g, 20 mmol) in ethyl acetate (100 mL) was added 3,4,4-trifluoro-3-butenoyl chloride (1.59 g, 10 mmol) at r.t. with stirring. The mixture was stirred for 30 min and filtered. The residue obtained after evaporation of the solvent was redissolved in dichloromethane (25 mL) and filtered. Evaporation of the solvent gave 1.8 g (94%) of the desired product as a dear oil.
