Vorschrift

A mixture of 3-methyl-5-[5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-yl]thiophene-2-carbaldehyde (intermediate 78, 0.144 g) in tetrahydrofuran (10 ml) and water (15 ml) was treated with sodium borohydride (0.03 g). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes, extracted with ethyl acetate and the organic layer washed with water and dried with brine and over magnesium sulfate. The title compound was isolated after removal of the desiccant and evaporation of the solvent.
