Vorschrift

1.00 g (5.4 mmol) of 4-methylsulfonylbenzaldehyde and 0.67 g (5.4 mmol) of 4-methoxyaniline were dissolved in 15 ml of ethanol, and the solution was heated under reflux for 1 hour. At the end of this time, the reaction solution was cooled to room temperature, and the crystals which precipitated were collected by filtration and washed with ethanol, to give 1.48 g (yield 95%) of the title compound as slightly yellow prismatic crystals.
