Vorschrift

In 10 liter of water was dispersed 100 g of montmorillonite having an average thickness of 9.5 Å as one unit of a layered silicate and an average side length of about 0.1 μm, followed by the addition of 51.2 g of 12-aminododecanoic acid and 24 ml of concentrated hydrochloric acid. After dispersion for 5 minutes and filtration, washing was conducted sufficiently, followed by vacuum drying. By this operation, a complex of ammonium 12-aminododecanoate ions and montmorillonite was prepared. The complex was found to have a layered silicate content of 80 wt. %. As a result of measurement by X-ray diffraction of this complex, the interlayer distance of the layered silicate was found to be 18.0 Å.
