Vorschrift

A solution of 6-methoxyquinoline 1-oxide (300 mg, 1.71 mmol) in Ac2O (5.0 mL) was refluxed for 2 hours. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was dissolved in EtOAc (50 mL), the organic layer was washed with brine (10 mL), dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated to give the crude product which was purified by silica gel column (PE/EtOAc=1/2) to give 6-methoxyquinolin-2-ol (200 mg, yield 67%).
