Vorschrift

In a manner similar to that of Example 22e, by reacting 0.5 g (1 mmol) of methyl 6-(8,8-dimethyl-5-p-tolyl-7,8-dihydro-2-naphthylcarbonyl)-2-naphthalenecarboxylate (described in Example 22c) with 0.126 g (3 mmol) of lithium hydroxide hydrate, a solid is obtained (0.48 g; yield=98%; m.p.=267° C.).
