Vorschrift

(5R)-3-[4-(3,6-dihydro-2H-thiopyran-4-yl)-3,5-difluorophenyl]-5-(1,2,3-triazol-1-ylmethyl)oxazolidin-2-one (Example 86; 0.86 g, 2.3 mmol) was stirred in a mixture of methanol and ethyl acetate (1:1, 20 ml) at ambient temperature. Sodium periodate (0.50 g, 2.4 mmol) in water (10 ml) was added dropwise, and the mixture stirred for 3 hours. Precipitated salts were removed by filtration and washed with ethyl acetate. The filtrate was washed with brine, dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated to dryness. The residue was chromatographed on silica gel eluting with 5% methanol in dichloromethane to give the title product (0.69 g). MS (ESP): 395 (MH+) for C17H16F2N4O3S
