Vorschrift

To a solution of methyl 3,5-bis(3-methoxypropyl)benzoate (1 eq.) from the previous step in THF/MeOH (2:1 v/v, 0.1 M) was added 2 M aqueous NaOH (2 eq.). After stirring at rt for 72 h, the reaction was diluted with EtOAc. The organic extract was washed with 10% aqueous HCl solution, brine, dried over MgSO4, and concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound as an oil.
