When example 6 is followed except that a chemically equivalent amount of 2-ethylhexylamine is substituted for n-propylamine, an isomeric mixture of 1-hydroxy-2-propyl 2-ethyl-1-hexylcarbamate and 2-hydroxy-1-propyl 2-ethyl-1-hexylcarbamate is obtained.
