Vorschrift

1M HCl in Et2O (3.07 mL, 3.07 mmol) was added to a solution of the (2R,5S)-7-methyl-2-[4-methyl-6-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]pyrimidin-2-yl]-1,7-diazaspiro[4.4]nonan-6-one (1.2 g, 3.07 mmol) in DCM (20 mL) at 20° C. and the reaction stirred for 5 mins. The solvent was evaporated and the residue was triturated from Et2O and dried under vacuum at 40° C. to afford the (2R,5S)-7-methyl-2-[4-methyl-6-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]pyrimidin-2-yl]-1,7-diazaspiro[4.4]nonan-6-one hydrochloride (E7) (1.07 g, 2.7408 mmol, 89.2% yield) as an off white solid with 5 mol % ether present;
