Vorschrift

4-(4'-Methylphenoxy)phenyl allyl ether (4.00 g, 16.37 mmol) was taken up in 1,2-dichlorobenzene (50 mL) and refluxed for 20 h. After cooling, the solvent was removed in vacuo and the resulting crude oil was chromatographed on silica gel (15% ethyl acetate/hexane) to afford 4-(4'-methylphenoxy)-2-allylphenol.
