The title compound (0.28 g) was prepared from 0.50 g of 4-oxo-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester, 274 μL of benzylamine, and 0.59 g of 1-trifluoromethoxy-4-(2-nitro-vinyl)-benzene using CH2Cl2 as the solvent. MS (ESI): exact mass calculated for C21H19F3N2O, 372.14. found, m/z 373.2 [M+H]+. 1H NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD): 7.44-7.41 (m, 2H), 7.37-7.26 (m, 5H), 7.19-7.17 (m, 3H), 5.15 (s, 2H), 4.37 (s, 2H), 3.51 (t, J=6.3 Hz, 2H), 2.87 (t, J=6.3 Hz, 2H).
