In an adaption of GP 8a, 4-Iodo-1H-indazole (1.00 g, 4.10 mmol) was reacted with trimethylsilyl acetylene (0.61 mL, 4.30 mmol) at 90° C. for 5 h to give 498 mg (57%) of pure 4-(trimethylsilyl)ethynyl-1H-indazole.
