Vorschrift

The procedure of Example 2 (ii) was followed using 0.9 g (1.99 mmol) of N-[2-{1-[(2-chlorophenyl)methyl]-2-n-butyl-1H-imidazol -5-yl}ethyl]phenylalanine methyl ester, 0.33 g of potassium hydroxide, 15 ml of water and 25 ml of ethanol to afford after workup 0.54 q of product. Trituration with ether provided the title compound; mp 78°-80° C. (free base) and mp 232°-233° C. (for the dihydrochloride salt).
