4-Fluoro-2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-1-nitrobenzene (1.2 g, 91.6%) was prepared from 2-methoxyphenol (0.68 g, 5.5 mmol) and 2,4-difluoro-1-nitrobenzene (0.80 g, 5.0 mmol) following the general procedure F. The product was then reduced to 4-fluoro-2-(2-methoxy-phenoxy)aniline (0.96 g, 73%) following general procedure B. N-[4-Fluoro-2-(2-methoxy-phenoxy)phenyl]-N′-(thiazol-2-yl)urea (0.32 g, 86%) was prepared from 4-fluoro-2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)aniline (0.117 g, 0.5 mmol) and 2-aminothiazole (0.060 g, 0.6 mmol) following the general procedure D.
